In 1995 leading hardware and software companies established the "DVD Forum" to define DVD specifications. DVD Formats such as DVD Video, DVD-ROM, DVD-R, DVD-RAM, DVD-RW and DVD Audio were defined. DVD Capacity was also define with DVD-5, DVD-9, DVD-10, DVD-18 and other less common used formats.
